Conversion Technologies International - Put our process in your product

Water Based Priming of PP Foam for Automotive Headliners

The first pre-applied adhesive fabric for Automotive Headliners was developed in our facility, when owned by Dexter Automotive. When Conversion Technologies International, was formed, it acquired this business. As the Automotive industry evolved and the design and specification for Headliners changed, CTI has developed new processes for meeting these demands and has maintained its presence in the supply change for headliners.

In this picture a 50" wide roll of PP closed cell foam is being coated with a water-based primer. This primer prepares the foam for the subsequent water based adhesive coating. CTI then is able to complete process steps, including sheeting, die cutting, and hand wrapping to make finished headliners, before they are shipped to the auto assembly plant.
